Dear Students, At the UN-International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), The Strategy and Knowledge Department (SKD) is looking for an intern to work on data analysis. The foreseen activities will be aimed at informing the Associate Vice-President (AVP) Jyotsna Puri on the potential contribution/effects of events related to the current crises (for example: What will happen after such peak in energy prices) on IFAD Beneficiaries. Internship criteria
Elements considered for evaluation of candidates: - Compulsory skills: o Data analysis and management in statistical software such as STATA/R or other similar; o Fluency in English language - It will provide a plus to have: o Already some experienced with geographical Information systems (GIS) software such as ArcGIS/QGIS/Google Earth Engine or similar; o Combine information from data to produce informative report/slides to communicate results to management staff Activities - Data analysis for various sources of datasets: o Combine information relevant to the requests from IFAD Impact Assessments for 11th replenishment cycle (shortly IFAD 11 IA Data - provided internally) or IFAD 10 IA Data o When needed, use the internal IFAD information from Portfolio analysis or IFAD Geonode data to process geographical information o External and secondary sources: § World Bank Living Standards Measurement Survey (LSMS) or § Household Budget Survey (HBS) or § World Bank Commodity Markets (worldbank.org) § GEOFABRIK for additional GIS layers - Support also, when needed, the SKD Front Office to various requests. - Follow Corporate IFAD induction The internship provides a monthly allowance. The duration of the internship can be of maximum 6 months. Physical presence in IFAD HQ in Rome is not strictly needed.
