Evento:
Coopera
2026
Date: 26 May 2026 – 14:00–15:30 (CEST)
Location: Corsie Sistine, Borgo Santo Spirito 1, Rome
Moderator: Marilù Lucrezio, RAI correspondent in Brussels
Context
The panel takes place within the broader framework of the ongoing transformations affecting international development cooperation, marked by the intersection of geopolitical tensions, global crises, and innovation dynamics. In this context, cooperation is increasingly
viewed as a strategic tool for promoting stability, economic resilience, and sustainable development.
Objectives
The meeting aims to foster dialogue among the main European development agencies on the evolution of their role and on the implementation of European priorities in partner countries, including within the framework of initiatives such as the Global Gateway and
the Mattei Plan. Particular attention will be devoted to coordination and integration mechanisms at the European level, as well as to the exchange of operational experiences and intervention models.
Panel Topics
The discussion will address multi-stakeholder partnerships, with particular reference to the interaction between the public sector, development finance institutions, and the private sector. It will also explore the opportunities and implications related to
the use of innovative financial instruments to support sustainable investments and inclusive growth models.
Cooperation Perspectives
The panel will provide a space for analysis and exchange aimed at identifying possible synergies, replicable practices, and coordination models among European agencies, also in light of the main ongoing initiatives. On the occasion of AICS’s tenth anniversary,
the event seeks to offer a shared reflection on the future directions of development cooperation and on prospects for strengthening the role of European agencies within the international system.
We kindly ask you to confirm your participation by completing the dedicated registration form, and let us know before Tuesday 12th of May in order to send the full list of participants.
Kind regards,
Olga
