I hope you’re all doing very well. I wanted to share an internship opportunity that might be of your interest shared form our network.

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) – Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean – is offering a six-month remote internship focused on Disaster Risk Reduction Investment in Latin America and the Caribbean.

It’s a great opportunity for MESCI students to gain experience in research, project development, and resilience financing within an international environment. The role involves:

• Conducting research on DRR financing, infrastructure resilience, and resilient recovery.

• Supporting the drafting of concept notes, project proposals, and reports.

• Assisting in organizing regional events and online sessions.

The internship is open to students or recent graduates (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.) in fields such as economics, public policy, or international development. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

It’s a remote and unpaid internship, but a very enriching experience for those who want to explore the practical side of resilience and sustainable development from within the UN system.
