The OECD is looking for a junior tax-benefit modeller, a role with a significant growth potential for a talented young professional. The selected candidate will work with a team of senior policy analysts and modellers to update the tax-benefit simulation model “TaxBEN” and the associated OECD tax-benefit database. This position provides a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment, in direct contact with word-wide experts on employment and social policies committed to developing innovative solutions to global economic challenges.

 

As this is a junior position, the selected candidate will receive extensive support and intensive on-the-job training from senior policy modellers. The training will focus on the use of STATA (if needed) and on how to update the TaxBEN simulation model.

 

Ideal candidate profile:

  • A university degree in economics, statistics, or another relevant field of study, with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis.
  • At least 12 months of experience in any of the following fields: applied labour or public economics, social policy, applied statistics.
  • Proven and solid knowledge of programming structures and concepts.
  • Proven experience in processing, managing, and analysing large volumes of data.
  • Excellent command of STATA or similar programming language (such as R or Python) for data management and data processing.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French would be an asset.

 

What can make the difference:

  • Hands-on experience of tax-benefit simulation models.
  • Proven ability to write and illustrate concepts clearly and comprehensively, adapting style and vocabulary as necessary.
  • Experience with survey/admin microdata.
  • Excellent command of STATA.
