Dear All,

This is to inform you that the Mathematics exam will take place on December 6th at 09.00 sharp in room T5, ground floor, building A.

I remind you that you are all expected to sit the examination and that in case you are unable to come you have to submit any evidence you think is relevant to justify your absence (i.e. if it is due to illness, you must inform the staff immediately and submit a doctor's certificate). Only in case you present these relevant evidences, you will not be penalised during re-sit exams that will be taken in the first 10 days/2 weeks of July (first and second semester).

For those of you who are not familiar with the Italian university system, I have prepared some instructions/information:

During the exams:

Please do not forget:
-  To bring a pen (not pencils that are allowed only for graphics), a calculating machine (if allowed by the professor) and a clock (if you feel it necessary) and note that this is all you may need. (All other objects, including books, dictionaries, electronic items and, of course, MOBILE PHONES, will NOT be allowed. It is an offence to simply carry a switched on mobile phone into the examination classroom as it could be used to cheat. A phone can also cause a disturbance during the examination and this is unfair to your fellow students.)
-  To go to the toilet before the exam (there will be no break and no possibility to leave the room during the exam)

Grading system

According to the Italian grading system, exams are graded in a scale out of 30 where 18 is the minimum passing grade. A cum laude could be added for excellent performance, but please note that this will not add any point to you average.

According to MESCI/MU rules, the minimum passing grade for every module is 18/30, where the grade of the module is the average of all exams included in it. In case you fail an exam, you MUST repeat it if the grade of the module is below than 18/30, but you CANNOT repeat it if the grade of the module is above than 18/30.

Should you need any further clarification, do not hesitate to contact me.

Ciao,

Raffaella
