Dear colleagues,

we just started our new interactive MOOC Software Engineering Essentials (SEECx) on edX today. The course is 9 weeks long. It includes video lectures, interactive quiz, modeling and programming exercises and focuses on management, development and patterns.

Participants learn:
- methods and techniques to develop software for different domains and platforms
- analyze requirements and transform the problem statement into models using textual analysis
- model multiple representations of the system consistently
- identify design patterns
- map models to source code
- integrate source code into an app
- deliver an app to a customer using build and release management techniques

We use this course for educational research in software engineering: we want to evaluate how well interactive online courses can improve the knowledge of participating students in comparison to traditional university courses. To obtain valid results, we need as many participants as possible!
