CEIS-Tor Vergata is pleased to inform you that, on Friday November 7th, 2014 at 12.00 pm, Till Requate (Kiel University) will present a paper on “Climate policy and the support of renewable energy sources” ABSTRACT In the presentation I analyze the relationship between CO2 mitigation policy and promotion policies designed to deploy renewable energy sources for electricity production (RES-E). I discuss feed-in tariffs, premium policies and green tradable certificates under certainty and uncertainty. I show that under certainty budget balanced feed-in tariffs (FITs), budget balanced premium systems and GTCs are equivalent, while under uncertainty they are not. I also discuss differentiated, technology-specific FITs showing they are not efficient. I also discuss further alleged co-benefits of support of renewable energy. The Seminar will be held at the Faculty of Economics, University of Rome "Tor Vergata", B-building, 1° floor, room B Please, go to www.ceistorvergata.it for the complete list of seminars and events at CEIS.
