Dear Students, Please find the following information below regarding a new internship opening.  A small allowance of €350,00 per month is the foreseen compensation. The Bilateral Relations team at the British Embassy in Rome is seeking an intern for a period of six months starting at the end of September (please note that the start date may be delayed should security checks take longer than originally expected). This is a curricular internship and the selected candidate will be equipped with a work laptop, but on occasion may be asked to work from a personal device. She/he will mainly be required to work at the office, near Porta Pia in Rome, but could also work remotely when needed. The United Kingdom has historically had a close bilateral relationship with Italy, which the Embassy is committed to building on and deepening, furthering ties by enhancing relationships at regional level throughout Italy. The successful candidate will help the team achieve this vision, working within the Bilateral Relations team. In the forthcoming months, the Team will be engaged in several major soft power events with senior stakeholders from the UK and Italian governments. These will require the whole team’s involvement in overseeing logistics and ensuring their smooth running and flawless delivery. We are looking for a candidate who is a good communicator in English and Italian. Strong analytical skills to absorb and summarise information, and organisational skills will be important too, as well as creativity and resilience. The candidate will be expected to assist the team in research on policy priorities, provide support in arranging events, visits, meetings, and logistics, prepare briefs, and carry out translations as required. MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide administrative and logistics support for the delivery of programmes, conferences, meetings and events, with a particular focus on the Young Leaders’ Programme, G7 Ministerial meetings and the Pontignano Conference; • Maintain and update contact database; • Provide support for senior officials’ programmes, e.g. arranging meetings, liaising with transport team; liaising with Italian and UK Ministries and stakeholders; • Attend meetings and briefings and drafting follow-up reports/minutes; • Take part in a wide range of embassy activities and events; • Event management support; • Assist on research on policy priorities; • Provide support for the reception of visitors. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS • Fluent spoken and written English and Italian (C1 level of the European Framework); • Good IT skills; • Good knowledge of current affairs; • Enthusiasm and proactive approach to issues; • Ability to analyse and summarise large volumes of information; • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise assigned tasks; • Confidence in carrying out tasks independently while displaying strong teamwork Skills.
